OUTDOOR Rifle/Pistol Range @ Jay Henges (September 14, 2026)

Rifle/Pistol Night

This will be time on their rifle/pistol range. This is very similar to just coming to The Range for range time like normal. They have 20 lanes that are outside (but covered) and reach out to 100 yards.

Distance:100 yards
Rate of Fire:1 shot every 3 seconds

Targets provided
You can bring your own rifle or pistol (cased like usual)
Must bring own ammo (for your gun or rentals)
.22LR rifles will be available to borrow at no charge
Eye and ear protection required — bring your own (some prefer ear plugs instead of muffs when shooting long guns)
This evening is less guided but structured, just like shooting at The Range. There will be 15-minute increments before the Range Officer calls a cease fire where everyone will walk down range together to assess and change their targets if they want. We’ll have experienced support available to help at all times.

Trap Shooting Night

This will be shooting shotguns at flying “clay birds” in a game called Trap Shooting. This is SO much fun, and hope you lean into the challenge to try it out. The recoil of a shotgun is much less using bird shot.

$5 per round (25 clays, or about 30 rounds) – cash only
12ga & 20ga shotguns available to borrow at no charge, or bring your own
Bring 7.5 – 9 birdshot ammo. Happy to help with ammo selection if needed.
Intro class before we shoot, and LOTS of support throughout!
If you’ve never shot any gun before, this might not be the best place to start, but if you have never shot a shotgun before, that is totally fine. Beginners are absolutely welcome.
